A USB plug does not guarantee a USB gamepad signal, and a Bluetooth receiver does not guarantee rumble or every button. Start by identifying the controller in the browser tester, then check the adapter's input, output and target platform.

BUYING CHECKLIST

Verify these three things

  1. Input: does the adapter accept your controller's USB, Bluetooth or proprietary mode?
  2. Output: does it speak the exact protocol your host expects?
  3. Features: will analog triggers, rumble, calibration and profiles pass through?
IMPORTANT LIMIT

An adapter cannot repair a bad input

Run the controller test before shopping. If the browser already sees a stuck button or drifting stick, a protocol adapter may translate the problem rather than fix it.
